This dish marries the briny flavors of fresh mussels with the rich, smoky flavor of salmon in a creamy white wine sauce. This dish is ideal for a special occasion or a cozy night in when paired with a crisp, refreshing glass of Pinot Gris.

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  • Bring the white wine and chicken broth to a simmer.
  • Cover the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened.
  • Take the mussels out of the pot and set them aside.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the smoked salmon is heated through.
  • Serve the smoked salmon and sauce over the mussels, topped with chopped parsley and seasoning to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with a glass of chilled Pinot Gris.
