Chardonnay Steamed Mussels Recipe
Chardonnay Steamed Mussels are a tasty and simple appetizer or main course. The combination of butter, garlic, and white wine produces a flavorful broth that complements the briny mussels perfectly.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh mussels, cleaned and debearded
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup chardonnay wine

- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
- Total Time: 20 minutes
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-high heat and add the garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is fragrant.
- Bring the Chardonnay wine to a simmer in the pot.
- Pour in the mussels and stir to coat them in the wine mixture.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened, covered with a lid.
- Remove any unopened mussels and sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve the Chardonnay steamed mussels with broth and crusty bread for dipping in bowls.
